Brent Wilkinson has over thirty years of experience in income tax planning and compliance, with specialized expertise in the areas of taxation for real estate, partnerships, LLCs, and S-corporations. Brent is a creative planner for structuring real estate entities including joint ventures, S-corporations, limited liability companies, in addition to planning for complex like-kind exchange transactions. He has assisted clients with cost segregation studies for office, retail, warehouse, and hotel properties, as well as financial modeling, projections, budgeting, and exchange transaction planning for industrial/commercial real estate, golf course developers, and owner/operators.
Brent is a frequent speaker on the topics of taxation of structuring partnerships and LLCs, real estate, tax-deferred exchanges, and designing financial plans that consider business entities with estate planning.
Brent is a 1986 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance. He did postgraduate studies at Georgia State University in Accounting from 1986 to 1989. Later Brent earned a Juris Doctorate at Georgia State University College of Law in 1996. Brent’s professional organization memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), Taxation Sections of the Atlanta Bar, and NAIOP (The Commercial Real Estate Development Association).
