Courtnay is a principal in Windham Brannon’s tax practice. She has over 20 years of experience in individual tax compliance and planning, domestic and international estate planning, family partnerships, and trusts and estates. She also advises individuals in the complex areas of executive compensation and philanthropic strategies. Her clients include high-net-worth individuals and families as well as corporate executives.
Prior to joining Windham Brannon, Courtnay was a principal with Tarpley & Underwood, an accounting firm that merged with Windham Brannon in 2011. Before joining Tarpley & Underwood, Courtnay was a principal with a local CPA firm. Previously, she was a senior tax manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP.
Courtnay graduated from the University of Georgia in 1985. In 1989, she received her Masters of Taxation from Georgia State University. She is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, she is a member of each of the following: Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute, the Planned Giving Advisory Board for the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club, the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Leadership Advisor Leadership Council. Courtnay is co-leader of Windham Brannon’s High Net Worth Practice.
Courtnay enjoys reading and gardening and is an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
